Canyon Creek PTA relies considerably on our community, so we ask that our parents have a volunteer initiative mindset. Every parent has a talent, skill, passion, or time, and we rely on those skills for every aspect of our organization. In a typical year, each Canyon Creek family is asked to serve a minimum of 4 hours of your time throughout the school year.
We appreciate (and NEED) every single volunteer and want everyone to have an opportunity to make our school the best it can be. So whether you spend an hour of time in the library, can serve as a room parent, or donate your time as a PTA committee chair, your time and talents are valued by the PTA board, faculty and staff of CCE.
In order to volunteer at Canyon Creek Elementary, you are required to fill out RRISD's volunteer application. This must be completed each year.
Why Should I Volunteer?
1. Your time and knowledge is needed and wanted. The diversity of our community and the experiences you can share with our students is invaluable.
2. Volunteering at your child's school sends a very clear message to him or her (and other students for that matter) that you're devoting your most precious commodity - yourself - to something that is important to their education. It shows students, teachers, and the administration staff that you support them and that what they do matters to you!
3. When you volunteer, you'll become more connected in our school community! Volunteering together brings about new friendships, new understanding and a shared purpose. There are many opportunities for parents, families, and community members to get involved, so find the right spot to get involved and stay connected. CCE PTA is committed to matching your strengths and interests with a role that not only gets you involved, but ultimately benefits our students, teachers, and community.
