2024 update: congrats to mrs Mitchell's 3rd grade class for giving the most donations!

As the class with the most donations given toward the Brown Santa toy drive, Mrs. Mitchell's class will receive an ice cream party during the spring!

The mission of Brown Santa of Travis County is to provide low income families with toys, books, and other items needed to make the holiday merrier and to positively impact families that, without our assistance, will not have what others in the world often take for granted.

In past years, the Brown Santa drive at CCE has been a HUGE success! In total, we received 277 toy and food items as well as $485 in monetary donations made directly to Brown Santa by the CCE community. We also received dozens of coats for the RRISD Clothing Closet that goes directly to children within the RRISD community.

Thank you to the entire community for your generosity and support in a year that has seen so much hardship.  Your gifts have helped put smiles on the faces of many children this season!

General Info

Brown Santa started in 1981 with a few deputies helping about 25 families in the unincorporated areas of Travis County. In late 2020, Brown Santa will kick off their 40^th Holiday Season of helping and giving to children and families. This program provides assistance to underprivileged children and their families in Travis County and senior residents of local retirement centers in Travis County. This program provides toys to less fortunate families with children for the Christmas Holiday.

 
Non-Perishable Food

Must be unopened and please check expiration date

• Canned goods (green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, etc.) 
• Cake mix (icing, flour, sugar, etc.) 
• Instant potatoes
• Peanut butter
• Canned tuna or chicken
• Canned soups, stew, chili, etc.

Toys/Gifts

All must be NEW and unwrapped.

Infants (Boys & Girls 0-2 yrs.)

• Baby items/toys (blankets, rattles, hand-held sensory toys, etc.)
• Musical toys
• Building blocks
• Baby dolls

Boys & Girls Ages 3-9 yrs.

• Balls (footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, etc.)
• Barbie dolls (any play dolls)
• Toy trucks, cars
• Lego sets, model kits, Play-Doh sets, etc.
• Arts & crafts sets

Boys & Girls Ages 10-14 yrs.

• Hand-held games for teens
• Wallets, purses, backpacks, etc.
• Jewelry (watches, earrings, necklace, etc.)
• Hair dryers, curling irons, flat irons, etc.
• Arts & crafts sets
